WELDING RODS AWS A5.1 E7018
TOKO AWS A5.1 E7018 welding rod, this electrode is known as a Low Hydrogen Electrode and can be used with AC or DC. The coating on the electrode has a low moisture content that reduces the introduction of hydrogen into the weld. The electrode can produce welds of x-ray quality with medium penetration.

Easily produces quality results on smaller Amperage DC or higher amperage AC welders. It is suitable for all positions on hard enable steels where no preheat is used, and on cold rolled steels normally exhibiting excessive porosity when Welded and conventional welding rods.

The low hydrogen content reduces cracking and peeling of the weld material. Use for field erections, steel structures, frames etc. Recommended Polarity: DCEP (reverse)or AC. Diameter (inches): 3/32" Weight lbs.: 5 tensile strength (PSI): 84, 000 amperage: 65-100.

(Note, welding electrode must be kept dry. If it gets wet, it must be dried in a rod oven before use. Download AWS E7018 MTC and MSDS, more introductions about E7018) other more : AWS A5.1 E6013, E6010, E6011, E7016, E7018, E8018 etc.

WELDING RODS AWS A5.1 E6013
TOKO AWS A5.1 E6013 is a low carton steel welding electrode with high titanium-potassium type coating, and suitable for both AC and DC. It is able to provide excellent welding technological performance, because the arc is extremely stable, and spatter loss is negligible. The slag has good fluid, and solidified slag is very easy to remove.

E6013 is designed for mediumto light penetration welding. It is used for welding carbon steel and is also used for welding any type of polarity. As mentioned above, it is very popular for beginners because it readily provides a stable arc that is fit for welding poor fitting joints. It is also used for welding mild steels, some low allow steels, and galvanized steels.

E6013 This electrode can be used with AC and DC currents. It produces a medium penetrating weld with a superior weld bead appearance.

(Note, welding electrode must be kept dry. If it gets wet, it must be dried in a rod oven before use. Download AWS E6013 MTC and MSDS, more introductions about E6013)

WELDING RODS AWS A5.1 E6011
TOKO AWS A5.1 E6011 welding electrode is a cellulose electrode as its flux coating contains cellulose. Cellulose is an organic compound that consists of around30% of the total amount in weight of the electrode coating. In someplaces, wood powder or paper pulp is added to reduce the cellulosecontent. The cellulose content in the flux coating of a celluloseelectrode like the E6011 is transformed into hydrogen, carbonmonoxide and carbon dioxide gas in the arc which, in turn, increasesthe tensile strength of the welded part.

Moreover, the cellulosecoating of the E6011 welding rod allows for deeper weld penetration. Furthermore, the E6011's high cellulose potassium coating allows and helps conduct AC and DC electric current.

(Note, welding electrode must be kept dry. If it gets wet, it must be dried in a rod oven before use. Download AWS E6011 MTC and MSDS, more introductions about E6011)

TIG TUNGSTEN ELECTRODE
Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding is a popular type of welding that utilizes tungsten electrodes to join various metals. The tungsten electrode is a critical component in the process, as it channels the current required to establish the ARC.

The tungsten electrodes can be alloyed with a variety of metals. Different types and sizes of electrodes are used for different types of welds and materials, and welders develop preferences based on welding style and project. Certain electrode types perform better with alternating current (AC) as opposed to direct current (DC). Electrodes are shipped without a ground tip. If grinding a tip, make a tight, sharp point in order to achieve a powerful and precise arc to ensure a clean weld.

Below is a table describing the differences in TIG electrode types for you reference.

Type AC/DC Usage
2% Lanthanated (Blue) AC/DC The blue lanthanated electrodes are popular due to the relative ease of striking an arc and lower amperage required. They perform exceptionally well in both AC & DC applications and are a popular general use electrode. Blue electrodes are effective for welding aluminum alloys, magnesium alloys, nickel alloys, copper alloys, titanium alloys, low-alloyed steels, and non-corroding steels.
Thoriated (Red) DC

The red thoriated type is America’s favorite electrode for a reason. Extremely long lasting and highly durable, these electrodes are a staple in DC welding applications. These red electrodes are best for copper alloys, nickel alloys, titanium alloys, and non-corroding steels.

1.5% Lanthanated (Gold) DC The gold lanthanated tungsten electrodes contain less lanthanum than their blue counterparts and are best used in DC applications. They are best for welds with titanium alloys, copper alloys, nickel alloys, and non-corroding steel.

Welding Rods Size And AMPS
The following will serve as a basic guide of the amp range that can be used for different size welding electrodes. Note that these ratings can be different between various electrode manufactures for the same size rod. Also the type coating on the electrode could effect the amperage range. When possible, check the manufactures info of the electrode you will be using for their recommended amperage settings.

Welding Rod Diameter

AMP Range Plate
3/32" (2.5MM) 40 - 125 UP TO 1/4"
1/8" (3.2MM) 75 - 185 OVER 1/8"
5/32" (4.0MM) 105 - 250 OVER 1/4"
Note! The thicker the material to be welded, the higher the current needed and the larger the electrode needed.
